The Dreamers

a novel in progress

(c) J. Rubio

There is a world behind the world. A place we can neither see nor hear, but with which we interact every day. In a way, the whole world is asleep. And yet some of us are able to dream…

Miranda likes old books. When what looks like a priceless first-edition Emerson comes into her library under the arm of a mysterious, handsome man, her curiosity is piqued. But both the book  and the man carrying it have secrets, and before long Miranda finds herself with an unusual group of new friends, fighting for their lives against a mysterious killer who seems to know their every move.

“Miranda looked like something made of glass, but her family was soon to discover she had a core of steel.” Delete. Does nothing for the tale.

My bias: extensive interest in ancient ways.
Cassandra: you do know the complex history, correct?

The piece is well written. I offer no commentary at this time other than to say I have bookmarked your site and will follow your progress.

If required, forward communique to this email as opposed to prior NNC address.

hey, thank you. I’m inclined to agree with you. god that “her family was soon to discover” just makes me sick to think that came from my fingers. Bleaugh.

it’s funny, but those 1500 words are actually not in the actual book, and all of the things that are posted here have been revised if not rewritten. The bridge scene certainly has changed almost completely.

The first draft is finished, though, which is very exciting.

Yes, Cassandra’s history was one reason I chose the name.

    Thanks for your comments!
